At Kaikōura Kayaks, we use traditional enclosed double sea kayaks, specifically designed for paddling in coastal waters. You sit inside the kayak with a neoprene spray skirt around the cockpit, helping keep you warmer and drier while giving you a genuine sea kayaking experience.

Our kayaks are stable, comfortable and easy to paddle, with supportive closed-cell foam seats, lumbar support and adjustable foot pegs. The double kayak design provides excellent stability and makes paddling better.

Being enclosed also provides greater protection from wind and spray than an open kayak. Combined with the appropriate clothing and equipment we provide, you can stay comfortable on the water and focus on enjoying the experience.
